The Most Important Thing to Bryan Haynes
I was thirteen years old when I met Jesus. My life was like any other boy that lived in a small community. There was no major sins that I had committed. My church had just completed a week of revival meetings. My sister had trusted Christ the day before. I came to church that Sunday and I knew I needed Jesus to save me from the penalty of my sin.
I could not wait for the invitation time to come at the end of the service. I sat on the second row that day instead of the back row of the church. When the invitation began, I stepped out and through my tears, I asked Jesus to come into my heart and forgive me of my sins and I surrendered my life to Him.
I struggled for a few years after I trusted Jesus. I went through a period of stubbornness and discontentment. I did not grow much spiritually until I completely dedicated myself to Christ during my third year in college. The Bible came alive to me as I began reading it. My reasons for saying no to many bad choices and yes to overlooked good choices became clearer to me and remain so even to this day. I still make some mistakes, but I know now what to do to get back on track with Christ, who loves me.
